Are you a learner/student?

What have you allowed someone to teach you today? What have you learned from observation or speaking to someone else? We can learn a lot from other people. Simply turn on the news or read a magazine article. People are constantly teaching us what to do and what not to do. One component of learning is that people are teaching us things all the time and they may not be aware they are teaching anyone. In fact you may be teaching something right now to someone. The most important factor of learning is receiving.  Are you learning from what you are observing? To be able to learn you must have an open mindset, meaning nothing is preoccupying your brain space. I understand we are adults and our lives are going 100 miles per hour, however we as adults should always be in a learning/student mindset. Stop, look, and ask yourself what can I learn from what I am observing in front of me now? Open your mindset and learn. Remove your filters about the world and pay attention. So the question still remains, what have you allowed someone to teach you today?

Thanks

Applying the wisdom you learned

I recently wrote about paying for wisdom and the positive feedback was great. I did however; receive a question on how to apply that wisdom. This a great question. The first step is to review and organize your notes. You may have received a plethora of information from an all day long conference; therefore, your brain needs to process this information bit by bit. Next, once the information is in order, read through your notes again and recognize what topic stood out the most and aligned with your goals. If you do not know your goals, you may want to start with defining your goals. Ask us about our Goal Busters Course. If you have goals aligned, then review what the speaker said to do. Did they say to read a book, write out goals, meditate, etc.? There has to be an action on your behalf once the notes have been organized. You did not attend the conference to simply hear the speaker; you wanted an awakening from within. The only thing standing between you and the awakening is ACTION. What are you going to do next, the choice is yours.

Will you pay for Wisdom?

$200.00 is what I recently paid to attend a conference here in town. The conference was packed with over 30 wisdom filled speakers from all parts of the corporate and personal spectrum. Not to mention workshops and food. Yes, we were served a decent lunch and great snacks in between sessions. So to answer my own question, yes I most definitely will pay for wisdom. It has been said that your "gift" (the money you bring NOT your talent) will make room for you to receive wisdom. I paid a gift of $200.00 and received more than what I bargained for.  Wisdom has a price and it must be respected. Ask yourself will you pay for wisdom? Will you pay the price to walk into a conference with what you know and walk out with what someone else knows (PMTS, 2004)? I will.  What are your thoughts?
