Moving from being a Bully to being Brave as a Leader

Current leadership skill level: Bully. A bully is another type of toxic leadership. Liechty (2005) describes a bully as a monarch type leadership, meaning the leader can treat the team how they see fit. Managers can rid this type of leadership style by becoming the brave leader who displays concern for their team.

How to build being Brave as a strength:
To display brave leadership, managers who desire to be leaders must be aware of their well-being. A high level of well-being has a positive effect on how leaders interact with their teams (Cherry, 2016). Leaders should assess their leadership skills quarterly via testing and staff surveys to develop their strengths.
