Hello Readers,
The days of the one job on the resume
are over. Today, people have multiple jobs on their resume and it is okay. I
still however recommend only going back 10 years. There is no need to be afraid
of being on a job for 1-2 years. People are no longer loyal to companies and
companies are always seeking new talent. This new wave of job hopping is what I
call “creating your career.” If you do not know what you want to do, then try
it all, well not everything, but at least try 5 things you are interested in.
For example, if you have always wanted to write but you want to start small, be
a guest blogger on sites like Mashable and Life Hack. While you are writing you may
want to get into selling, therefore check out what is going on in the direct selling market. Next you may
want to create an online store and start selling your items on Ebay or Amazon.
Now, you may be saying, Marla, these are not careers, my point exactly. Times
have changed. You have to create your own future with different areas of
interest. For example I love to learn and bring it to my readers so they can
enhance their lives and someone else’s, after all this is what it is all about,
sharing information.
Get out there now and create your career, do not wait for
anyone to do it for you.
