Overall
training and development is needed in any organization. “Employee growth and
development aid in the creation of enhancing of self-awareness,
self-actualization, self-realization, interpersonal skills, sense of belonging,
emotional stability, and locus of control” (Zwetsloot et al., 2013). Training
should be consistent, relevant, and ongoing to maintain a psychologically
healthy and safe workplace. Some companies allow their culture to stray away
from the core values and lack of training is the result. How is your training
and development department measuring up? Is it consistent, relevant, and
ongoing?
