7 Tips for Life Part 1

Hello Readers,

I just came back from a Women’s Conference in Atlanta, GA. and if you have been following me you know I love to pass on what I learned. Over the next few weeks I am going to share with you what I call “Tips for Life,” a four part series on practical tips anyone can use. The conference was full of dynamic speakers and they had much wisdom to share on leadership, personal development, career, and simply living the good life. I am going to share with you a mixture of what I learned in hopes that you gain from it and pass it along as well. Below is your first round of Tips for Life. The theme is personal and spiritual development. Enjoy:

7 Tips for Life Part 1

1. The way we think will guide and steer our life. Change your thoughts, change your life.
2. If you say you can’t then you won’t. Your mouth dictates your future.
3. Who told you, that you were not enough? You are enough!
4. Stop chasing trends, create your own.
5. Stop making excuses, you are where you are because you allowed yourself to be there.
6. Know your worth.
7. Learn how to refresh. Refresh means to fill up again and again.

These are some of the tips from one of the dynamic speakers at the conference, Toya Exnicious. Check her out and follow her on Twitter @MsTPrissy

Structure

Hello Readers,

As I get older (I will be 39 this year), I realize how much my brain does not function well without some type of structure. I find myself trying to figure out some of the smallest structural details of a situation and in actuality there is no structure to be had. I have learned that not everything has structure. For example, some people are not structured, some companies are not structured, and definitely some parking lots I have been in are not very structured at all. So what do I mean by structure? Merriam Webster defines structure as, the way something is built or organized. I have come to respect my own personal structure and it is what makes me who I am. I am strong in my beliefs and my family. I love to read and to have fun. I may over analyze some things and I am a visual learner. These are just a few of the things that make me who I am or simply put this is the way I am built and I like it. Yes, I will continue to review and inspect my structure for improvements and if I need to redesign I will. How are you built? Do you need to redesign your structure? Accept you, redesign if you need to, and live life.  Think about it.

The kid in us all

Hello Readers,

I love to take walks in my neighborhood and watch the kids play and ride their bikes. On my walk the other day, I watched a man play with his remote control car. I thought to myself this is the cutest thing. It made me think about staying young. I believe all adults are big kids. Some of us have to dig deep to find the kid in us but, believe me the kid is there. Here are some ways to get that kid out of you:

1. Color. Yes, get a coloring book and crayons.

2. Do a puzzle.
3. Buy a remote control car
4. Fly a kite
5. Play some video games
6. Go to an amusement park with no kids. (No this is not selfish)
7. Take a Disney Cruise with no kids.
8. Play on a neighborhood sports league.
9. Go to an arcade.
10. Collect stuffed animals (ask how I know about this one)

I hope you do one or all of these and live life like a kid, It may just save your life.

Starting Anew

Hello Readers!

Have you ever heard the phrases “this is my new chance” or “this is a new opportunity for me”? I am sure you have. We all have probably said these same phrases at one time or another. But when you stop to think about it, isn't every day a new opportunity? Isn't every day a new chance to start anew? Sometimes we get caught up in what is going on and/or what's not going on we forget about what's in front of us and how to live. Here is some simple advice; stop right now and look at what's around you, what do you see? Do you see clothes on your body? Or your car in the parking lot? Let's take time to live in the moment and treat each minute as another opportunity to start anew. It takes one decision to start anew and that can be at any time you decide. The key word is YOU!

Is your life like a Rollercoaster?

Have you heard the saying "life is like a roller coaster"? Or "hold
on for the ride"? Yes, I agree "life" in general will have its
ups and downs. We all have to deal with something that we do not want to deal with.
However have you ever stopped to think about a Roller coaster it self?

Here are some things to think about:

- A roller coaster is off the ground therefore, it never hits rock bottom. The only way to go is up.
-There are more high loops and turns than lower loops and turns. The lower loops drop and only lasts
seconds and the higher loops are slower so you can feel the excitement and anticipation longer.
-Sometimes the cars let you hang at the top for a while so you can be reminded of the view of where
you are. Keep your mind focused on that view.
-Many people think they are fun and love the excitement of the ride. Simply live life.
-Roller coasters are not long rides, they are temporary and short. Just like problems, they do not last long.

As stated, life will have its ups and downs, it is all in how we look at it and the attitude we choose to take.
