Spread Love

Hello Readers,

In lieu of the senseless shootings in Orlando this past Sunday, I wanted to speak to you on the topic of love. I took some time to think about some words that remind me of what love really means to me and here is my list: Unselfishness, kind, caring, looking past flaws, imperfection, not boastful, happiness, joy, peaceful, and excitement. All these words/phrases have to do with removing yourself from the scope of a situation and thinking about others. This my readers is what life is all about, others. How can we as the HUMAN race move forward if we are not looking past others flaws? How can you put into practice these words? How can you show love? Sexual orientation and past life mistakes, do these things really matter if a person is trying to move forward? We must give people a chance and love them through the hate and the crime, yes even the accuser.  Here are some examples of what I do to spread love:

1. I try to speak to everyone I see.
2. I ask people how their day is going, especially in the drive thru.
3. I purposely compliment people each day.
4. I ask about their family and friends.
5. I am genuinely happy for their life achievements

What are your examples of how you spread love?

Decisions

Hello Readers,

Have you ever had to make a very important decision and you knew the answer but it was not what you wanted to do? I had to recently make this type of decision. I knew it was the right thing to do but my emotions wanted something else. I knew if I followed my "emotions" the outcome would not be what I wanted. Here are 5 tips I learned in the process of making this decision and many others in my life:

1. Take your time. Do not rush the process.
2. Check your emotions and feelings at the door. Most of the time they are not real and they often lead to the wrong decision. Be of a sound mind.
3. That thing called your "gut", trust it. It is that deep feeling you have when you know you are right. It is called intuition.
4. Seek peace. If you have peace about the decision, then you are okay to proceed.
5. Always and I mean always seek wise counsel. No one does anything alone.

These tips I shared do not mean I get it right each time, we all make mistakes right? I am sharing what I learned in hopes it will help others and that is a good decision.

Your thoughts are welcome...

Service

Hello Readers,

Do me a favor and ask yourself who have you served  lately? Really, take some time to think about it. Did you serve someone today? If so great keep it going, if not ask yourself why? I believe we exist in the world for the sole purpose of helping and aiding others. Now you may ask but Marla what about my needs? Great question, ironically when you begin to place your care into the care and concerns of others somehow your needs are met. If you think serving is something hard to accomplish on a daily basis here is a list of simple things you can do to serve others:

1. Smile at 5 people today. You never know what a smile can do for others.
2. Open the door for someone else.
3. Compliment someone.
4. Ask someone how can you help them.
5. Yes as crazy as this one seems, let someone in during traffic.

This is a simple list to follow.

Happy serving

Well this is it…

Hello Everyone and Happy 12/30!

Well here we are less than 48 hours to go. As I sat at my desk and wrote out my 2014 accomplishments (by the way I encourage you to do the same), I reflected back on the year I have had. There have been ups and many downs but as I viewed my list I noticed how much I accomplished. Therefore, I ask what is on your list?  What did you learn in 2014 that you can improve upon in 2015? What relationships grew stronger? How did you self-develop? Sure I could list all the negative things that happened this year in my life and there was a few such as getting laid off. I choose, however, to list a few of the GREAT accomplishments for this year. Here are some:

-Started blog in April
-Finished Master’s Degree
-Started G.E.D. Tutoring/Mentoring
-Read 41 books with a goal of only 12
-Taught my own material to various audiences

I share this not to brag but, to share a piece of me with the world and to simply encourage others. Write your 2014 accomplishments and share…

Thanks

MJW

What do you believe?

I recently read an article which stated some interesting facts about Warren Buffet. I found it interesting that he said that he knew he would always be rich and wealthy. People told him he would not but he never believed them for a second. So I ask you, what do you believe? James Allen said it best “As a man thinketh so is he”. What are you thinking? Are you going to be wealthy, rich, successful, healthy, spiritually whole, and happy? Or are you those things now? Here is some advice, start saying and writing what you want. Read and repeat it every day. Affirmations really do work. Affirmations tell your subconscious mind to store this information in expectations that it will happen. So start believing for what you want and start saying you have it! Your brain will look for it and the Law of Attraction will take place. It all starts with our believing.
