Five good things

Hello Readers,

Here we are in the month of September. The year is almost over and we are three months away from Christmas. This year has flown by. But in reality don't we say that every year? Don't we say “wow this year has really gone by fast”? With the year going by so fast very seldom do we stop and smell the roses. Have you taken the time to stop and think about five good things that happened to you this year? Five may seem like a small number and I hope that more than five good things have happened to you this year. I'm going to open my world to you and share my five good things. These five things are just a small sample of the great things that happened to me this year. I have way more than five. So here they are:

1. Graduated with my Masters Degree in Adult Education from Strayer University!
2. Received great feedback about my blog and how it is helping people!
3. Got surprise birthday party! Never had one as an adult.
4. Won an iPad Air!
5. I am doing more of what I love which is training and development on various platforms!

What are your five things? Please share

Your thoughts are welcome...

Commencement Notes Steve Harvey Lessons Part 3

Hello Readers,

I hope you have enjoyed the tips from my commencement ceremony with Steve Harvey as the key note speaker. Here are the last few notes:

1. When you think you have sunk so low, call on who your God is. You are going to need him.
2. God wants to hear from you.
3. Sometimes you have to come back from a set back.
4. We must ask and believe. Stop trying to figure things out.
5. Change your life.
6. Imagination is everything, it is the preview to life's coming attractions. This is faith.
7. Faith is your imagination. Everything you imagine God put it there.
8. Live the life God has for you.
9. Rich people think about what they want then imagine it, and then they go get it.
10. Everything you have you imagined it then you went and got it.
11. Have you ever seen a preview that did not happen?
12. Stop making excuses for your life.
13. Stop listening to others and the naysayers.
14. There is always a way around things if you are willing to think outside the box.
15. If something plays in your imagination please believe it is there for a reason.

Hope you enjoyed these lessons

Ten Habits of a Successful Person

 Hello Readers,

I recently spoke on this at an event. Here are some tips to live on:

1.  Read 30min-hour a day. Read anything… Reading stimulates the brain.
2. Have a daily routine. There is power in a routine lifestyle
3. Have fun. Relax. Family time is a must.  Act like a child, it is okay. We are all big adult kids.
4. Schedule quiet time to think. Meditate. Be alone. Daydream. Pray.
5. If you work, make sure it's a job that's fulfilling. Use your skills wisely. Do not let them go to waste.
6. Spend money on memories, not material things. Create life experiences. Go to a concert, play, or an amusement park.
7. Take care of yourself (Very important) without this one, the others do not exist.
8. Get involved with something. Pay it forward. Volunteer.
9. Take chances. What do you have to lose? Do not be afraid of failure. Van Gogh only sold one painting.
10. Live life to the fullest. Live out loud!

Commencement Takeaways Part 1

Hello Readers,

Last weekend I graduated with my Masters Degree in Adult Education. It was a great honor to sit among so many others who have earned such a great achievement. The keynote speaker was actor, comedian, talk and radio show host, and author Steve Harvey. He mentioned some powerful takeaways. Here is part one of just a few takeaways I learned from his commencement speech. I know they will bless you:

1. A secret of wealthy people is they imagine what they want and they actually believe they will have it.
2. Be 100% whole. Money is not everything and cannot bring you happiness.
3. Do not let your degree just hang on the wall. Do something with it. Make an impact in your life and others.
4. If you only want out of life what you can accomplish you will limit the scope of what you can achieve.

What is Success really?

Hello Readers!

Success, Success, Success! I hear this word almost every day. I am sure you can agree with the same. So many people look to wealth and fame for the actual definition of success. What is success? Really? I think I have an answer… Success is in the eye of the beholder. Success is what you are willing to accept and what you are willing to take action on. For example, if I come home to a clean home with no dishes and extra duties which need to be fulfilled, I feel pretty darn successful. If I complete one chapter in my book I am writing or reading, I will feel successful. Success should not be about the task at hand. Success should be how you feel about what you have accomplished. In a nutshell, in my book there is NO concrete definition to success. Success is what you make it out to be. I will share one secret with you. Ready? All that talk about having money and fame for success, it is nice to have those, but are you healthy? Do you have friends? Do you makes others smile? These all lead to a successful life. The secret is if you are not living on purpose, your success (whatever it may be) is just sitting there staring at you and waiting.
